Mazda confirmed today at a dealers meeting in Palm Springs that it will bring its subcompact Mazda 2 hatchback to the United States in late 2010. That's only a couple months behind the Ford Fiesta, with which the 2011 Mazda 2 shares its basic platform architecture.

We'll get a look at the U.S.-spec Mazda 2 in early December when it debuts at the 2009 L.A. Auto Show. Mazda says it will get more specific about on-sale timing, pricing, specs and equipment at the show.

We don't yet know whether we will get the five-door Mazda 2 unveiled at the 2007 Geneva Auto Show, the three-door version unveiled last year, or both. Either way, we'll be getting a car that has won numerous awards in Europe and Japan. Lightweight construction is often cited as the key advantage of the Mazda 2 over other subcompacts. Company engineers put considerable emphasis on cutting weight (without compromising safety) to improve fuel efficiency and performance.

"You've asked us for it for a while now, and we've been studying the market to make sure we can make a business case for it across North America," Jim O'Sullivan, Mazda North American Operations' president and CEO, told the assembled dealers. "As consumers' tastes and attitudes toward small vehicles have changed, we now believe strongly there is a place in our lineup for a car below our current least-expensive car, the Mazda 3."

For God took my life, one that others might disregard as having any significance and filled me with His purpose and showed me His plans to move hearts and lives toward Him. Understanding this, though faced with struggles, you can overcome too.

Be encouraged today as you read this promise from the Lord found in Jeremiah 29:11 of the Bible, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

How was your Christmas? Did you guys have fun? Christmas is one of my favourite occasion… Every year I wished hard for white Christmas! It’s soooo beautiful just by imagining it itself… =) Snowing~ *hehehe* Went for a Christmas eve dinner cum birthday dinner in Centro… I wud say the decoration is quite nice and the ambience there create the Christmas ‘feel’ .. Everyone had fun I guess =) At least I did =) Food was delicious, entertainment was OK, great companions, etc =) To sum it all up, it’s great =) Before Christmas day, baby and I went to visit few shopping malls to admire their Christmas deco. Pavilion’s deco this year is quite disappointing in MY POINT of view… Though I didn’t went there last year, but I believe last year’s deco was way better than this years’… I heart One Utama’s deco *maybe is becos I’m in love with White Christmas* lol =p I saw Pyramid’s and Midvalley’s one as well.. Pretty amazing =) Don’t compare with Christmas decos abroad… hehehe =p

The Nikon Speedlight SB-600 and the Nikon SB-800 are very similar flashes that work great with pretty much every Nikon camera in the last 50 years. I got the news from Eric hiew

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I am sure most of us have received/heard of the news of our Brother Soo
Churn Haw and his illness. This e-mail is created for us to update each
other on his condition and any latest prayer request from him or his family
members.

According to Brother Jon Tan, Churn How went for a surgery today (6 October
2008) to remove his cancer and the doctor do not know how bad it is until
the report is out but it is still early detection. It's a testicular cancer
and he is in Hospital KL. He is still weak and resting at the time being and
is not expecting any visitors for the time being.
Prayers:

1. Pray for healing and that the surgery will not trigger more.

So I guess, that is about it. Jon will be the person to contact if you have
any questions about it. Thank you and God bless =)

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 19 — Malaysia today cancelled a concert by Canadian rock singer Avril Lavigne, saying it may taint the Muslim-majority country's Independence day celebrations after the Islamic opposition slammed her show as being "too sexy."

The Arts, Culture and Heritage Ministry said it had decided not to permit Lavigne's show because it was unsuitable to Malaysian culture and could not be held on Aug. 29, two days ahead of Merdeka.

"It is not timely. It's not in the good spirit of our National Day. If we go ahead with the concert, it is contrary to what we are preparing for," said Shukran Ibrahim, a senior official from the culture ministry's department that vets all foreign artistes.

The decision came after the youth wing of a fundamentalist opposition party, the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (Pas), called for the show's cancellation.

Kamarulzaman Mohamed, a party youth official, said yesterday that Lavigne's show was "considered too sexy for us" and would promote the wrong values just before Merdeka.

"We don't want our people, our teenagers, influenced by their performance. We want clean artistes, artistes that are good role models," he said.

Lavigne, who became famous with her 2002 debut album "Let's Go," had planned to launch her monthlong Asia tour in Kuala Lumpur.

The show's promoter, Galaxy Group, can request a new date for the concert, which will be considered by the ministry, Shukran said. Galaxy officials couldn't be immediately reached for comment.

Galaxy began advertising the Grammy-nominated rock singer's concert this month even though it had yet to obtain a government permit, which is mandatory for all foreign music shows. It said yesterday about half the concert tickets had been sold.

Last year, R&B singer Beyonce moved her show from Malaysia to Indonesia, and Christina Aguilera skipped the country on an Asian tour after a controversy erupted over a dress code for foreign artistes.

Malaysia requires all performers to wear clothes without obscene or drug-related images and be covered from the chest to the knees. They must also refrain from jumping, shouting, hugging and kissing on stage.

Still, members of Pas and other conservative Muslims often protest against Western and even Malaysian music shows that they deem to be inappropriate.

The local organiser of a Pussycat Dolls concert in 2006 was fined RM10,000 after the US girl group was accused of flouting decency regulations.

So so so so so so memalukan..... i don't think MTV Asia Award will take place in Malaysia again...

he went for volleyball practice but ended early bcos of the rain... i was persuaded by him to meet him sumwhere near the practice place to have dinner with him which is in Piccadilly, Millenium Square... a nice place to visit especially when it's drizzling (windy) (= when i wanna post up this blog i realize both of us did not take a single picture of us or the food we ate >.<... i just browse tru the net and TADAA! a not-so-close-up picture of the restaurant... can't get many of it tho o.O
it's located along Jalan 223, Petaling Jaya...if there's n e chance you guys pass by that place, give it a go =) the food there is rather affordable and YUMMY! =) overall we'll give them thumbs up! im sure my baby will agree with me too! =)
